TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Junior Anna Munn scored a career-high 23 points and the Indiana State women's basketball team remained undefeated inside Hulman Center, using another tough defensive effort to defeat the Illinois (Chicago) Flames by a score of 64-33.

Indiana State claimed their fourth straight game to improve to 6-2, including a 5-0 record in Terre Haute. UIC dropped to 1-6 on the season.

Both ISU and UIC started cold from the field on Friday night, as sophomore Jessica Valley scored the game's first points on a fastbreak layup after three minutes of action. Indiana State never trailed in the game, using a 16-3 run over eight minutes in the middle of the first half to turn a 7-6 lead into a 23-9 advantage with 6:16 left until the half.

The Sycamores held a 30-21 lead at the break, on the strength of 19 first-half points from Munn. The junior from Indianapolis went 7-for-10 from the field and 5-for-8 from three-point range in the opening 20 minutes. ISU shot 11-for-31 (35.5%) from the field in the first half, while UIC went 8-for-26 (30.8%).

Indiana State scored the first 22 points of the second half, as the Flames went into a lengthy scoring drought. ISU pushed their lead to 52-21 while UIC missed their first 14 shots of the second half and went 0-for-7 at the free-throw line until Megan Wallace knocked down her second of two attempts at the stripe with 7:43 remaining in the contest. ISU's defense also forced 11 turnovers during the 12 minutes to begin the second half.

UIC went over 18 minutes without a field goal, from the 2:35 mark of the first half until 3:56 remained the game.
 
The Sycamores cruised to victory on Friday, led by Munn's career-best 23 points and season-high eight rebounds. Freshman Marina Laramie also went into double-figures, scoring 11 points for the game with 10 in the second half alone. Laramie also pulled down a career-high eight rebounds.

After posting 19 steals in Tuesday's victory over Northern Illinois, the Sycamores went for 18 steals on Friday against UIC. ISU's 18 steals is the fifth-best total in school history and led to a 33-12 edge in points off turnovers.

UIC had four individuals score six points for the game, including team-leader Rachel Story. Story entered the game averaging 19.0 points per game and ranking among the Top 20 on a national scale.

Indiana State takes a break from action for finals week at the university, returning to action on Sunday, Dec. 16. The Sycamores travel to Martin, Tenn., to face two-time defending Ohio Valley Conference champion UT Martin at 3:00 p.m.
