After dropping the first game of a double header 5-2 to the Purple Aces of Evansville, the Indiana State Softball team rallied for a come from behind win to beat the Aces 5-1 in the second game.

Game One

The Purple Aces got off to a quick start in game one as their leadoff batter came around to score in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead over the Sycamores.

The Sycamores answered right back in the bottom of the first inning when junior third baseman Alyssa Marcum hit an RBI single through the left side to score junior first baseman Bailey Wittenauer and tie the game at one.

The Purple Aces then responded with another run in the top of the second inning to extend their lead to 2-0 over the Sycamores. In the top of the third inning the Purple Aces struck once more, this time adding three more runs to their total off four hits to make it a 5-0 Purple Aces lead.

The Sycamore offense then tried to respond as they cut the lead to 5-2 in the bottom of the third inning. Junior catcher Olivia Andres led off the inning with a double up the middle. Marcum then singled through the right side to score Andres and cut the Purple Aces lead to 5-2.

Marcum finished the day with three RBI's for the Sycamores with a run scored.

The Sycamores could get no closer, however, as they fell in game one by a final score of 5-2.

Game Two

Once agin the Purple Aces jumped out to an early lead over the Sycamores as they grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning.

Both team's offense then began to go dormant until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Sycamores came roaring back to tie the game at one thanks to an RBI double by freshman short stop Shelby Wilson

The Sycamores then carried that momentum into the bottom of the sixth inning when they added four more runs to their lead with RBI's from Marcum, Wilson and junior right fielder Hailey Tinsman to pull away from the Purple Aces 5-1.
