NORMAL, ILL. ? Thunderstorms with heavy rain washed away any hopes of playing either the first or second round of the 2011 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship today. The tournament was scheduled to have two 18-hole rounds today with a final 18-hole round on Saturday.
The 54-hole tournament will now be reduced to a 36-hole, one-day tournament with the team and individual champion crowned at the conclusion of Saturday's action. The tournament will not continue into Sunday, league officials announced.
The Sycamores and the rest of the conference schools will begin the first round with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. (ET) Saturday at the Weibring Golf Club on the campus of Illinois State University.
Competing for Indiana State will be junior Reece Feducia (81.2 average), sophomore Christina Beyerl (82.5 average), sophomore Emily Dixon (83.1 average), freshman McCall Christopher (83.2 average), and senior Diana Price (87.8 average).
