SOUTH BEND, IND. ? The Indiana State Sycamores picked up a victory on the opening day of the 2010 Meyo Invitational Friday as the distance medley relay team of Dustin Betz, Andrew Stull, Andrew Lepkowski, and Jeremiah Vaughan ran to the with a time of 9:59.57.
That time was just short of the provisional qualifying mark and was the third best in Indiana State history. It was also just one of four events that the Sycamores did well in at the Meyo Invitational on Friday.
Also on the men's side, Michael Disher ran the sixth fastest 5,000 meters in school history as he finished 22nd overall in 14:46.27. Craig Padgett was 30th in the event with time of 15:17.02. Colton Slack ran the 11 th fastest time in school history in the 500 meters as he finished 31st with a time of 1:07.73.
The women's distance medley relay team of Kacie Klem, Leann Michl, Kaci Smith, and Kelsie Slater ran the ninth best time in Indiana State history, finishing in 12:04.13 in finishing seventh overall.
The Meyo Invitational, one of the premier events in the nation during the indoor season, continues today on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. The Sycamores not competing at the Meyo Invitational will be in competition today at the Tiger Invitational, hosted by DePauw University.
