Feducia Tied For Fourth; Sycamores Tied For Ninth At Butler Invitational

Sycamores tied for ninth in team race;

final round scheduled for Tuesday in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. ? Junior Reece Feducia fired a three-over par 75 in the opening round of the Butler Fall Invitational being played at Eagle Creek Golf Club and is tied for fourth heading into Tuesday's second and final round. The Sycamore team is off to their best start of the season as they are tied for ninth with a 318 total.

 

Feducia shot a one-under 35 on the front nine of the 6,675-yard par 72 course and posted a 40 on the back nine to lead the ISU team effort. Sophomore Christina Beyerl shot 40-39 to close out the first round with a seven-over par 79 which is her best round of the season. She enters the second round tied for 29th.

 

Sophomore Emily Dixon posted a round of 81 (42-39) and is tied for 38th while freshman McCall Christopher had a round of 83 (41-42) and is tied for 52nd. Senior Diana Price is 76th with a round of 91 (45-46). Senior Britney Martin, competing as an independent, is tied for 63rd after carding an 84 (45-39) in the opening round.

 

Bradley University leads the 14-team field with an opening round total of 301 with Wisconsin-Green Bay second at 307. IUPUI and Butler are tied for third, both carding 311, with Western Kentucky fifth (312), Eastern Illinois sixth (314), Chicago State and Western Illinois are tied for seventh (315), Indiana State and DePauw are tied for ninth (318), Loyola 11th (320), Valparaiso and Cleveland State are tied for 12th (332), and Olivet Nazarene 14th (383).

 

Bradley's Kelly Amundrud and Breanne Neufeld leads the 80 player field as each posted a one-over 73. Chicago State's Esther Lee is third with a two-over 74 with Feducia tied with Butler's Michele Nash for fourth with three-over 75s. Ellyn Hansen of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Molly Fields of Butler, Lauren Williams of Eastern Illinois, and Lauren Kuss of IUPUI round out the top 10 as they are tied for sixth with four-over 76s.

 

The final round of the 2010 Butler Fall Invitational will be played on Tuesday.
