TERRE HAUTE, IND. ? Indiana State senior Erica Moore (Sullivan, Ind.) not only broke her own school record in winning the 600 meters at Purdue last Saturday, her time of 1:29.50 is the fastest collegiate time in the nation this year and the fifth fastest in the world. Her time also moved Moore into the top 15 of the collegiate women's all-time 600 meter performance list.
The collegiate record is 1:26.56 set by Delisa Walton of Tennessee on March 14, 1981 in Pocatello, Idaho. The 600 meters is a retired event and is no longer competed at the NCAA Championships.
Sycamore teammate Rachel Posey has the 79th fastest collegiate time in the 600 meters after running 1:36.87 at the Gene Edmonds Cup.

Sycamore senior Lauren Martin is currently ranked fourth in the nation in the triple jump after provisionally qualifying for her second NCAA Indoor National Championship with a jump of 43'4.25” (13.21m) which also set an Indiana State and Missouri Valley Conference record. Martin is also 34th in the long jump (19'-8.25”/6.00m).
Indiana State senior Kylie Hutson has the fifth best jump in the nation this season in the pole vault, automatically qualifying for her fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Indoor National Championships with a vault of 13'11.25” (4.25m). She is the defending Indoor National Champion.
Sycamore junior Kelsey Hanley has the seventh best throw in the nation for the women's weight throw as she provisionally qualified for her second trip to the NCAA Indoor National Championships with a throw of 64'-5” (19.63m).
Indiana State senior Erica Moore has the 11th best time in the 800 meters as she ran 2:08.85 at the Illinois State Dual. The mark provisionally qualifies Moore for her third straight NCAA Indoor National Championships. Moore also holds the 61st spot in the high jump (5'-7”/1.70m) and 62nd in the long jump (19'-2”/5.84m).
Also for the Sycamore women, freshman Felisha Johnson is 33rd in the shot put (49'-6.5”/15.10m) and 19th in the weight throw (61'-0.25”/18.60m). The 4x400 meter relay team of Martin, freshman Stacia Weatherford, freshman Leann Michl, and Moore is currently 37th in the nation with a time of 3:47.81 while the 4x400 team of Moore, Weatherford, Martin and junior Rachel Posey has the 65th best time of 3:51.17.
Sycamore junior Major Clay currently holds the sixth best mark in the men's high jump with a jump of 7'-2.25” (2.19m) which provisionally qualified him for the NCAA Indoor National Championships.
Indiana State senior Josh Williams is currently ranked seventh in the nation in the men's weight throw with a throw of 65'-9.75” (20.06m) which provisionally qualified him for the NCAA Indoor National Championships.
Also for the Sycamore men, senior Daryl Truitt has the 80th fastest time in the 60 meters (6.86), junior Konstantinos Tzirtziris ranks 67th in the 600 meters (1:21.82), sophomore Jeremiah Vaughan is 79th in the 800 meters (1:54.11) and 31st in the mile (4:10.59), junior Michael Roberts 81st in the 60 meter hurdles (8.15), sophomore Ernest Rollins is 85th in the triple jump (47'-9.25”/14.56m), senior Lyle Nolcox 30th in the weight throw (62'-8.75”/19.12m), and Brandon Pounds is 54th in the weight throw (60'-4”/18.39m) and 93rd in the shot put (53'-11”/16.43m).
The ISU distance medley relay team of Vaughan, junior Andrew Stull, freshman Derek Stinefield, and junior Andrew Lepkowski holds the 70th best time at 10:27.83.
