TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State University head women's basketball coach Jim Wiedie has announced a pair of dates for the 2008 ISU Girl's Basketball Camp series at the ISU Arena this coming June.
The Youth Day Camp will be offered from June 9-12 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day. This camp is for girls entering grades K-7 and the cost is $135. Instruction is geared towards the fundamental skills and techniques of basketball. Players will be introducted to the fundamentals of offensive and defensive skills and will participate in station work as well as variouos competitions.
The registration deadline is June 9. Sycamore Squad members and children of ISU faculty will receive a $10 discount off camp admission. Campers who pre-register by May 25 while receive an additional $15 off camp admission.
The High Internsity Camp will be offered from June 22-25 for girls entering grades 8-12. The cost is $250 for a resident camper and $175 for a commuter. Instruction at this camp will be geared towards the advanced player. Development will focus on refining skills and enhancing concepts of team play. Campers will be given information concerning the college recruiting process as they look to choose the right college.
