Trevor Thompson

Trevor Thompson is in his second season as an assistant track and field coach at Indiana State, working primarily with the Sycamores' multis and high jumpers.

Thompson's first season as a Sycamore coach saw plenty of success for the Blue and White, as Indiana State swept the MVC Indoor and Outdoor Championships. Grace Quinlan set the outdoor school record in the high jump at 1.81m (5-11.25) on her way to Honorable Mention All-America accolades, while Kyrsten Fehribach and Kevin Krutsch both won conference titles in the high jump during the 2024 outdoor season. Krutsch also captured the indoor high jump conference title, while Jake Ottersbach became the first Sycamore since 2001 to win the decathlon at the conference championships. Overall, five program top-10 high jump or combined events marks were set during Thompson's first season.

Thompson was no stranger to success during his time as a student-athlete, as he completed his collegiate career with Indiana State's 2023-24 MVC title-winning team. He earned all-conference honors in the high jump at both the 2023 MVC Indoor and Outdoor Championships, while also securing a top-20 finish in the event at the 2023 NCAA East First Round. Thompson's top outdoor clearance with the Sycamores of 2.12m (6-11.75) ranks in the program top 10.

Prior to spending his final season of eligibility at Indiana State, Thompson competed at fellow MVC member Southern Illinois, where he was a four-time all-conference selection for the Salukis. Thompson was the 2022 MVC Outdoor high jump champion while at SIU, and recorded top-25 finishes at the 2022 and 2023 NCAA West First Rounds. In addition, he also scored points at MVC Championships in the decathlon (2021 outdoor) and heptathlon (2020 indoor).
