Kieran Intemann joined the Indiana State staff as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in December 2021. He serves as the primary contact for the Sycamore women’s basketball, cross country and track and field programs.
Intemann has led the publicity efforts for 12 Missouri Valley Conference Track and Field Championship-winning teams since arriving in Terre Haute, while also leading the publicity of Sycamore volleyball's first-ever MVC specialty award winner in Kira Holland (Freshman of the Year) in 2023 and the Sycamores' first women's basketball all-conference honoree since the 2017-18 season. He also led the promotion efforts for Sycamore Cross Country/Track and Field Program Director Angela Martin, who has earned 12 MVC and five USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors in the last four years, while three different Sycamore track and field assistant coaches have also earned conference honors during that span.
In his three-plus years at Indiana State, Intemann has coordinated publicity efforts for eight All-Americans in track and field, along three Olympians and Paralympians. During that span, nearly 50 Sycamore track and field coaches and athletes have earned MVC specialty awards, while more than 70 have earned weekly conference accolades. In addition, Intemann's assigned sports have seen continued growth in terms of social media following, interaction and engagement. He also coodinates the schedule for Indiana State's athletic communications and digital content student workers.
Intemann also served as the media coordinator for the 2022 MVC Cross Country Championships, the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Great Lakes Regional and the 2024 MVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He will also serve as media coordinator for the 2026 MVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and the 2026 NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships, which will take place in Terre Haute. Intemann was a part of Indiana State's 2022-23 Athletic Communications staff that was named the MVC SID Staff of the Year.

Prior to joining the Sycamores, Intemann spent nine months as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Charleston Southern University, where he led the publicity efforts for the Buccaneer women’s basketball, soccer and baseball programs. Intemann also covered CSU’s volleyball and softball programs during his time in Charleston.

During his time in Charleston, Intemann coordinated publicity efforts for multiple all-conference players, including Charleston Southern softball’s first First Team All-Big South honoree in a three-year span. He also led the publicity efforts for 2021 Big South Goalkeeper of the Year Jenna Moran, who became CSU’s first-ever goalkeeper to earn first team all-conference honors.

Intemann previously spent 18 months as Athletics Communications Assistant at Radford University, where he was the primary contact for the Highlander baseball, men’s soccer and golf programs, while also serving as the secondary contact for men’s and women’s basketball. He was part of a group that spearheaded growth among Highlander social media accounts, and Radford’s baseball account saw a growth of more than 40 percent during his time in the New River Valley.

He also led the publicity efforts for a pair of Radford student-athletes who signed professional contracts, one preseason player of the year selection and multiple all-conference and all-state honorees.

Intemann spent four years as a sports information assistant at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, while completing his undergraduate degree. At Marshall, he led all media relations efforts for the Thundering Herd’s women’s tennis team while serving in a secondary role for select sports, including volleyball, men’s basketball and women’s basketball. He also had a role with the Thundering Herd football program on gamedays and in press conferences for both coaches and student-athletes.

During his time at Marshall, Intemann also served as the sports editor for the university’s student newspaper, The Parthenon, where he covered Marshall’s first-ever NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament win over Wichita State in San Diego, California, in 2018, along with the 2018 Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa, Florida, and the 2019 Conference USA Basketball Championships in Frisco, Texas.

A Fort Mill, South Carolina native, Intemann graduated magna cum laude from Marshall University in May 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in sports journalism and a minor in communication studies.
