Indiana State men’s basketball head coach Matthew Graves announced the addition of assistant coach Isaiah Tisdale. Tisdale began at Indian State on June 23, 2025.
Tisdale comes to Terre Haute most recently come Garden City, Kan. as the Garden City Community College Interim Head Coach, a Division I NJCAA school. His team finished first in the league in three-pointers made, second in three-point percentage, second in assists, and third in field-goal percentage.
“I am very excited to be adding Isaiah to our staff,” said Coach Graves. “As a former student-athlete at the D1 level, Isaiah has a unique ability to relate to our players. He was an outstanding player both at Vincennes University and ETSU. Isaiah has a tremendous ability to relate and connect with players plus provide on the court instruction at a high level.”
Prior to GCCC, he was the Player Development Coach at East Tennessee State University after spending two seasons at Wake Forest as a graduate assistant. He worked under Wake Forest’s head coach Steve Forbes when he was awarded the ACC Coach of the Year in 2022. In his time there, he helped develop NBA players Jake LaRavia and Alondes Williams, as well as ACC first-teamer Tyree Appleby.

As a player, Tisdale began at Vincennes University and accumulated more than 1,000 points in his two-year career, being named a junior college First Team All-American both 2016-17 and 2017-18.
He went on to play at ETSU and won the Southern Conference Championship, earning the Southern Conference Tournament MVP in 2020.
