Biography

Indiana State women’s swimming and diving head coach Matt Leach has announced the hiring of Angela Hess to a head equipment manager position.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Angela Hess on our staff helping build this team from the ground up,” Indiana State head coach Matt Leach said. “She is a very dedicated person not only to her university but to helping create something special on this campus and within the community.  I know that she will help bring in great young student-athletes that will inspire future Sycamore swimmers as the program grows.”

Hess is an undergraduate student at Indiana State with an extensive background in swimming. A lifelong swimmer, Hess attended Carroll High School in Fort Wayne, Ind. and was a second team All-American, second team all-conference selection, four year varsity letterwinner and was a team captain as a senior. She also made eight sectional finalist appearances for the Chargers.

“I am looking forward to being a part of the ISU Women’s Swimming and Diving Team,” Hess said. “Without swimming, I would not be the person I am today. With Coach Leach's guidance and passion for the sport, I believe that this swim team will provide ladies at ISU, along with myself, an opportunity to continue to grow, learn, and reach our highest potential as both swimmers and students at Indiana State University.”

She is currently pursuing a degree in business administration and management at Indiana State.
