Andrea Jones completed her first season with the coaching staff at Indiana State in 2012-13, assisting the Sycamores to an 18-win season and a spot in the postseason for the first time since 2005-06. Jones comes to Indiana State after serving as an assistant coach at Saint Joseph's College last season.

Indiana State posted an 18-13 record in 2012-13, advancing to the Postseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). ISU’s 18 wins were their most since 2006-07 and the team’s 10-8 record within the Missouri Valley Conference was ISU’s best since 2008-09.

Defense was key to Indiana State’s success in 2012-13, as the Sycamores set a program record for the fewest points allowed per game for a single season. Indiana State held 10 opponents to less than 50 points in a game while their opponents averaged 55.5 points per game for the season.
 
Prior to her time at SJC, Jones served as a student assistant coach for the women's basketball team at Fontbonne University from 2009-11, assisting the Lady Griffins to a 34-20 record in her time with the staff. The team finished as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Champions and made an appearance in the national tournament during 2009-10, before finishing second in the conference in 2010-11.

Jones played basketball for two seasons at St. Louis Community College, graduating in 2009. The Camilla, Ga., native received her Bachelor's Degreee in Sports Management from Fontbonne University in 2011.
