Pole Vault - 12'4"i (2014)/ 11'9.75" (2013)
Indoor Track & Field –
2014 -Rice placed fifth at the MVC Indoor Championships in 2014 with a clearance of 12 feet 2.75 inches, but her best jump of the season came at the Hoosier Hills Invite when she cleared 12 feet 4 inches, eighth best in school history.
2013 – Cleared a career best height of 12’-1.5” (3.70m) in pole vault at Meyo Invitational … tied for seventh at MVC Indoors in pole vault (11’-5.75”/3.50m).
2012 – Competed in pole vault … cleared 10th best height in school history at 11’-9.75” (3.60 meters) at Edmonds Cup … placed 10th at MVC Indoors (11’-5.25”).
2011 – Cleared season best 10’-7” (3.23 meters) in pole vault at EIU Early Bird.
Outdoor Track & Field –
2013 – Cleared a collegiate best 11’-9.75” (3.60 meters) in pole vault at Jesse Owens … placed 14th at MVC Outdoors (11’-3”/3.43 meters).
2012 – Competed in pole vault … cleared career best 11’-5.75” (3.50 meters) at EIU Tuesday Tweener … placed 11th at MVC Outdoors (11’-3”).
2011 – Cleared a personal best 11’-2.25: (3.41 meters) at Big Blue Classic … placed 12th at MVC Outdoor Championships after clearing 10’-0.5” (3.06 meters).
Before ISU –
Competed and lettered in track & field all four years at Penn High School … competed and lettered in basketball three years … named All-State in track & field for three years … named Most Valuable Player Field at Chesterton Meet … named Most Improved … set school record in pole vault.
Personal –
Lauren Elizabeth Rice was born on June 18, 1991, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Jim and Amy Rice … majoring in Textils and Apparel Merchandising with a minor in Business and Marketing at Indiana State with plans to open own wedding and planning boutique … interests include dogs, riding horses, decorating, cars, growing my palm tree, and swimming with dolphins … sister, Whitney, attending the Pratt School of Art in Brooklyn, N.Y.
