Indoor Track & Field

2014 – Competed in the weight throw … had season best throw of 59’-11” (18.28m) at the Air Force Team Challenge … placed 11th at MVC Indoors (57’-5.75”/17.52m).

2013 – Competed in the weight throw … posted a career best distance of 59’-2.75” (18.05m) at EIU Friday Night Special … placed ninth at MVC Indoors (57’-2”/17.42m).

2012 – Did not compete.

2011 -  Competed in shot put and weight throw … had personal best 43’-7” (13.28 meters) in shot put at Wisconsin Elite Invitational … had personal best 48’-0.75” (14.65 meters) in weight throw at Tiger Invitational … also threw 133’-9” (409.77 meter) in indoor discus at Wisconsin Elite Invitational.

Outdoor Track & Field

2014 – Threw hammer at EIU Big Blue Classic (168’-8”/51.40m) before missing rest of season.

2013 – Qualified for NCAA East in  hammer throw … placed 39th with throw of 174’-8” (53.24 meters) … competed in discus and hammer throw … had collegiate best distance of 190’-4” (58.01 meters) in hammer throw at Billy Hayes Invitational … placed eighth at MVC (185’-7”/56.56m) in hammer throw … had season best throw of 136’-8” (41.65 meters) in discus at Saluki Invitational.

2012 – Competed in shot put, discus and hammer throw … had season best 41’-4.25: (12.60 meters) in shot put at Pacesetter Quadrangular … posted career best 153’-0” (46.64 meters) in discus and  threw 177’-3” (54.02 meters) for career best in hammer throw at EIU Tuesday Tweener.

2011 - Competed in shot put, discus and hammer throw … had personal best 41’-11.5” (21.79 meters) in shot put and 144’-4” (44.00 meters) in discus at Big Blue Classic … had personal best 147’-9” (45.04 meters) in hammer at Billy Hayes Invitational.

Before ISU  

Competed in track & field four years at Martinsville High School … competed in football two years … was state medalist with third place finish ... received Mental Attitude Award and Most Valuable Player Award.

Justin Michael Applegate was born on Jan. 6, 1992, in Martinsville, Ind., the son of Mark and Kim Applegate … interests include fishing, hunting, and hiking.
