Hountz was a member of the East Central Track and Field team where she set the school record in the pole vault. She also earned the MVP of field events honor.

Emily Nicole Hountz was born January 21, 1994 in Sunman, Indiana to Joseph and Annette Hountz. She has two siblings; Melissa and Joseph. Hountz is majoring in Elementary Education with plans to become an elementary school teacher after college.
