Transferred to Indiana State from Purdue University where she placed 21st at the 2010 Indiana Intercollegiates with a 5K time of 20:53.40 … had personal best 20:51 in 5K.
Attended Northridge High School (Middlebury, Ind.) where she lettered two years in cross country … was named All-Conference as a senior, helping her team win conference, sectional, regional, and semi-state titles … competed in state meet two years … high school personal bests include 19:49 (5K), 19.0 (100 meter hurdles) and 51.0 (300 meter hurdles.

Emily Lauren Mercer was born on May 19, 1991, in Elkhart, Ind., the daughter of David Mercer and Lori Reinhart-Mercer … majoring in Spanish at Indiana State … sister, Hanna, is a member of the Indiana State cross country and track & field team … brother, Ladd, is a member of the Purdue cross country and track & field teams … interests include music, singing, hanging with friends, and feeding Mrs. Norris (her kitty cat).
