Season Outlook
"Stephanie has done a great job of transitioning to the outfield after coming in as a pitcher," Head Coach Brenda Coldren said. "She is very athletic, has a strong arm and runs well. Offensively, she has tremendous power and a good eye. Stephanie has a positive influence on our team and is vocal on the field, and we can depend on her to get the job done."
As a Junior (2010)
The lone senior on the 2010-11 Sycamore squad, Jonson will look to lead the Sycamores back to the MVC tournament. Last season Jonson started all 49 games the Sycamores played in and was a cosistent player on both the offensive and defensive sides of the field. Jonson also tied teammate Bailey Wittenauer for the team lead with five home runs and had a slugging percentage of .426%
As a Sophomore (2009)
Saw the field as a starter in 28 of 36 contests ... Compiled a .197 batting average and had five extra-base hits, including a home run ... Scored a run against Georgia State ... Made her only pitching appearance of the season against Howard ... Went 1-for-3 with a run scored, two RBI and a walk in an 8-2 win at Dayton ... Smashed her first career double and scored a run at Illinois State ... Added another double against Creighton ... Had a strong day against Butler, going a combined 4-for-7 with a double and a trio of runs scored ... Belted the first roundtripper of her career at Northern Iowa in a 4-3 win over the Panthers ... Went 2-for-3 against Evansville ...
As a Freshman (2008)
Made four appearances on the mound ... Threw a complete game against IUPUI, where she struck out eight batters.
High School
Two-time all-conference selection while recording the best ERA on the team as a sophomore and junior ... Compiled a 20-7 record, a 1.63 ERA and 183 strikeouts in 2006, leading her high school to a conference championship and a Big Four Championship ... Member of the National Honor Society and National Honor Roll.
