Biography

2007:  Started in 45 games ... tallied six doubles and three homeruns for a team-leading 21 RBI ... fifth in hits with 24 ... had a .980 fielding percentage.

 

2006:  Did not compete because of the NCAA double-transfer rule.

 

At St. Mary of the Woods:  Played two years at St. Mary of the Woods for coach Mandy Neal ... claimed the single-season homerun record (9) in 2004 ... totaled 21 homeruns over her two seasons, batting .463 in 2004 and .427 in 2005 ... named a USCAA All-American in 2004 and 2005 ... her team won National Championships in 2004 and 2005 and she was named to the National Championship All-Tournament team and MVP in 2004 ... USCAA All-Academic in 2004 and 2005 ... USCAA Player of the Week (2005) ... USCAA Exchange Club Player of the Week (2004) ... Best Offensive Player in 2004 and 2005.

 

High School:  Lettered all four years in softball at North Vigo High School under coach Jack Kirchner ... also lettered in basketball (1 year) and volleyball (2 years) ... named to the All-MIC Conference in 2002 and 2003 and named All-County from 2000-2003 ... other honors include being her school’s gold medal winner in spring athletics and being team MVP in 2002 and 2003.

 

Personal:  Born Katie Ann Iocoangeli on February 25, 1985 to Melanie and Gary Iocoangeli ... father played football for the Marines ... has two siblings: Jennifer and David ... majoring in Elementary Education.
