Tracy Jordan enters her third season as an assistant coach for the Indiana State softball team, joining the program for the 2008-09 season after having coached for two years at Eastern New Mexico.

Jordan's passion for coaching began in 2003, when she served as an assistant coach for the Panthers Gold U-18 team that qualified for the ASA Gold Nationals. She continued her coaching endeavors with the Portales Girls Softball League from 2004-07.

During that time, Jordan also coached at various clinics sponsored by the Eastern New Mexico softball program, where she taught fundamental softball skills for three years. In 2006, Jordan coached in a Sports Strategies clinic, sponsored by the NikeGO Factory Store, providing instruction to players from families in a low socioeconomic class.

In 2007, Jordan taught a softball class at ENMU for undergraduate students while she simultaneously served as the graduate assistant coach for the softball team. During her two-year coaching stint with the Zias, Jordan's primary on-field responsibilities focused on hitting and working with infielders.

Before joining the coaching ranks, Jordan concluded one of the most distinguished playing careers in ENMU history. After finishing her collegiate play in 2006, Jordan earned her a bachelor's degree in community physical education. A multiple-semester member of the honor roll, she also obtained her master's degree in sports administration while at ENMU.

"Tracy bring such a great attitude to our team, and she is a positive influence on all our student-athletes," Head Coach Brenda Coldren said. "As a former college player herself, she knows how to get the most out of our players on the field. Tracy recognizes where we can make adjustments during the game and has great knowledge to develop our team as the season progresses."
