Led Clay County High School to the Tennessee Class A Basketball Championship game, finishing as runner up ... Named Tennessee Class A Mr. Basketball and received numerous all region, all-conference and all-state honors ... Finished his career with 3,287 points scored which is 10th most in the history of the state of Tennessee ... As a senior, he set the Tennessee High School record for most points scored in a season, breaking a 25-year old record held previously by Kentucky legend Tony Delk ... Led the state of Tennessee with 37.3 points per game ... Set state tournament records for the most points in a game (54) as well as for the tournament (128), and the 6-foot-3 guard also tied records for the most points in a quarter (23) and the most field goals for the tournament (44) ... Earned state tournament MVP honors despite his time finishing in 2nd place -- the first time that happened in Tennessee since 1996 ... Named an All-State selection ... Seeing time as both a point guard and shooting guard as a junior, Key averaged 28 points, seven rebounds and four assists per game last season, as they put together a 31-3 record and made an appearance in the Class A Tennessee state tournament ...
