High School: Averaged 24 points and eight rebounds per game during his senior campaign. He also garnered conference player of the year accolades in addition to all-conference first team and second team all-state selections. Burnett was also a McDonald's All-American nominee was ranked 84th nationally as a senior by the ESPN Recruiting Rankings. He was coached at Cienega HS by Matt Johnson and also gained experience playing for the Compton Magic club team ... Also played baseball at Cienega High School.
