Biography

2012 - Named to the All-MVFC Second Team ... Was 15-of-18 on the year in field goal attempts, including a long of 48 yards as part of the Sycamores road victory over No. 1 North Dakota State ... Fritschle's 83.3 percentage on field goals is a new school record while he also made each of his last five field goal attempts this year ... He converted 29-of-30 PAT's and was honored by The Fred Mitchell Award Committee for the month of September ... Fritschle booted 50 kickoffs on the year for 3,121 yards, averaging 62.4 yards per kick and 23 touchbacks ... His 1.36 field goals per game average ranked second in the league and tied for ninth nationally while he led the team with 6.73 points per game, which was fifth in the league and tied for 67th in FCS ... Fritschle made field goals to end the first half in each of the Sycamores' first four games.

 

2011 - Saw action in nine games as the team's kickoff specialist ... Averaged 61.8 yards per kickoff as he was called upon 43 times ... Recorded seven touchbacks ... Averaged a season-best 69 yards per kickoff on three attempts at Illinois State.

 

High School - Played for head coach Kelly Brashear at Washington High School. Fritschle has started for the Hatchets for three seasons. In 2010, The Washington kicker put 70 kickoffs in 11 games in the end zone, a 85 percent rate that ranked him third in the nation in kickoffs. For the season, he averaged 69.6 yards per kickoff. Fritschle also connected on a school record 46-yard field goal. He was named a All-American high school kicker through the Kohls kicking camp. At that same camp, Fritschle won the punting competition with a punt that went 44 yards and had 4.45 seconds of hang time. Tanner also won the kick-off competition with a 72-yard blast that had 3.63 seconds of hang-time. He was named as the runner-up of the Kohl's National High School Leader of the Year for his football kickoff prowess. He played a vital part in the Hatchets' fourth-straight winning season at 8-3 and was named to the Indiana Football Coaches' Association All-State team for Class 3A.
