Connor Smith joined the ISU Football coaching staff in the summer of 2023 serving as an offensive assistant. Smith joins the Sycamores by way of DePauw University where he served as an Assistant Offensive Line coach with the program.
During his time at DePauw, he set up drills to work on specific blocking techniques for various pass protections, as well as working with both gap and zone run schemes. He also taught footwork, hand placement, and eye-discipline.
Previous coaching stops include serving as an assistant coach at Bloomington North High School in 2020 coaching the linebackers, as well as serving as the JV/Freshman defensive coordinator.
Smith was a four-year offensive lineman at DePauw University serving as team captain in 2022. He earned his bachelor's degree in history in May 2023 while minoring in communications.
