2014 – Ran at the Saluki Early Bird … finished 4K in 12:25.49.

2013 - Ran personal best 26:27 at the Pre-National Invitational … placed 62nd at MVC Championships (27:16.2).

Indoor Track & Field

2014 – Ran the mile (4:37.83) at the Coughlan Cup, finishing eighth.

Outdoor Track & Field

2014 – Did not compete.

Before ISU

Completed at Tiffin University for two seasons before transferring to Indiana State … was mid-distance specialist at Tiffin with personal best 1:55.60 in the 800 meters … also posted personal bests in 1500 meters (4:07.25), 3000 meters (8:56.25), and the 3000 meter steeplechase (9:59.69) … lettered four years in cross country and three years in track & field at Woodridge High School … All-Ohio in track (2010, 2011) … first team cross country all-district (2011) … New Balance All-American (4x1600 relay) in 2011 … named MVP in 2011 … Freshman of Year in 2007 … member of 4x800 relay that set school, district, regional, and state record … member school record setting distance medley relay team … also set mile and two mile records.

James Patrick Charles was born February 22, 1993 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Joe and Lauren Charles … has two siblings, David and Brittany … David played football at Case Western (2010-13) … Brittany plays soccer for St. Bonaventure.
