Jordan Tiegs

Jordan Tiegs joined the Indiana State baseball program in 2015 as the pitching coach. 

In his four years working with Sycamore pitchers, Tiegs has guided the staff to an ERA under 4.50 three times including a 3.98 ERA in 2016. He has coached five players taken in the MLB Draft including Jeff Degano (2015), Will Kincanon (2017), Jeremy McKinney (2017), Damon Olds (2017) and Ethan Larrison (2018). 
 
During the 2015 season, Tiegs saw right-hander Tyler Ward become the 12th players in program history to pick up Freshman All-American honors after being named to the list by Louisville Slugger. Ward finished his rookie season with a 6-5 record, holding a 3.81 ERA with a save and striking out 40 batters.
 
Tiegs worked with pitchers during a three-year stint with the UIndy Greyhounds. In the 2012 season, he mentored a pitching staff that set school records for shut outs (11) and second in school history in strikeouts in a season, 425. The Greyhounds earned trips to the Midwest Regionals in two of his three years while qualifying for the DII World Series in 2012 with a record of 46-16. 
 
Tiegs played at Sauk Valley Community College for two years before pitching at DI College of Charleston for a season before ending his collegiate career at UIndy.
 
After a successful collegiate career, Tiegs was taken in the 2006 draft by the Cincinnati Reds where he spent two season playing in the Frontier League with the Evansville Otters before an injury ended his playing career. 
 
Tiegs has earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications-Public Relations with a minor in Business Administration, as well as an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis. Tiegs, a graduate from the University of Indianapolis, is a native of Woodstock, Ontario, Canada.
