Debbie Ramseyer was an outstanding athlete in both cross country and track & field during her career at Indiana State from 1989-1993. In cross country, Ramseyer became the first female and second Sycamore to qualify for the NCAA National Championships in 1992 and she duplicated the feat again in 1993.


 

She was a three-time all-region selection and a two-time academic all-American. She won the conference title in 1990 and 1992 and her second-place finish in 1993 helped the Sycamores win the MVC Championship.


 

On the track, Ramseyer became the first person in league history to win an event four straight years when she won the outdoor 5,000 meters from 1990 to 1993. Overall, she won nine individual conference track titles and assisted ISU to three conference team track and field titles in 1991, 1992 and 1993.
