The fifth class was inducted into the Indiana State University Athletics Hall of Fame on October 24, 1986. The ceremonies were held in Hulman Center, Terre Haute, Indiana. Alpha Cleary, Associate Director of Athletics, spoke the invocation. Richard G. Landini, president of Indiana State University, offered the welcome and toast. Mr. Bob Forbes, "Voice of the Sycamores," emceed the event and made the presentations. Congratulatory remarks were made by Mr. Bernard “Beanie” Cooper, ISU Director of Athletics. The final presentations were made by Cleary and Cooper.
