2018-19: Sat out the season as a redshirt but did play in five games for the Sycamores prior to suffering a season-ending injury ... Posted five points and pulled down three rebounds in seven minutes of action at Ball State .. Posted two points and pulled down a rebound at Green Bay ... Played 17 minutes and recorded nine points and six rebounds in the huge road victory over San Jose State.

High School: Brinkmeyer is a graduate of Valley High School where he played for head coach B.J. Windhorst. In 2016-17, Valley High School reached the Iowa Class 4A State Championship Game to cap off a terrific 21-5 campaign. He scored 4.5 points per game on 65.3 percent shooting, adding 63 rebounds and 11 blocks as Brinkmeyer split time with a pair of seniors. In addition to his time playing at Valley High School, Brinkmeyer spent the summer playing for head coach Vance Mosley with the Kingdom Hoops program. He averaged a double-double for coach Sullivan on the AAU circuit. Brinkmeyer got a later start to his basketball career as he didn't start playing until sixth grade and made his AAU basketball debut in the summer of 2016.
