Personal Bests

High Jump - indoors 5'4.5"/ outdoors 5'3"

Indoor Track & Field –

2013 – Competed in the high jump … cleared a career best height of 5’-4.25” (1.64 meters) at the Grand Valley State Big Meet … best finish came at Coughlan-Malloy Cup with a second place finish … tied for 12th at MVC Indoors.

2012 -  Competed mainly in the high jump … established career best by clearing 5’-2.25” (1.58 meters) at EIU Early  Bird … also set career bests in 800 meters (2:42.06), 55 hurdles (10.13), long jump (15’-8.75”) and shot put (29’-2.5”).

Outdoor Track & Field –

2013 –Competed in the high jump … tied her collegiate best by clearing 5’-3” (1.60 meters) in placing ninth at MVC Championship.

2012 - Competed in the high jump … cleared a personal best 5’-2.25” (1.58 meters) at Billy Hayes Invitational.

Before ISU –

Lettered four years in track & field, four years in basketball, and four years in softball at South Central High School … named All-Conference in track three years and basketball one year … named All-Area in softball … was state qualifier in track & field … earned numerous awards in track including most valuable player three years, Century Club four years, most points running events, most points field events, and Mental Attitude … set school record in 300 meter hurdles and as member of 4x4 relay team … received MVP, most steals, highest free throw percentage, and highest field goal percentage awards in basketball … received highest batting average and Mental Attitude awards in softball.

Personal –

Katie Marie Bekavac was born on Jan. 29, 1993, in Michigan City, Ind., the daughter of Greg and Susan Bekavac … majoring in Elementary Education at Indiana State … interests include running track, shopping, and travelling with family ... member Kappa Delta Pi.
