SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Indiana State volleyball moved to an even 3-3 on the young season following a loss to Missouri State on Saturday, 3-1, to conclude the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational.
Hadley Hardersen led the team with a triple-double of 11 kills on a .429 hitting percentage, 15 assists, and 13 digs.
Kira Holland was the other Sycamore in double-digit kills with 10, adding in eight digs.
Ava Robart and
Curry Kendall each finished with eight kills, as Robart recorded 11 digs.
Lily Mueller hit .700 with seven kills and a block, and fellow middle blocker
Ella Scott finished with four blocks.
Avery Hales led the offense with 26 assists and added in 11 digs.
Set 1 | Indiana State 25, Missouri State 14
Indiana State commanded the lead in the opening set, going up 9-3 before holding a 15-7 lead at the break.
Hadley Hardersen recorded three-straight kills early in the set to help the Trees go up on top. The Sycamores grew to a 20-9 lead which includes a pair of kills and an ace by
Ava Robart before closing the set with an 11-point set win. The Sycamores hit .538 in the set earning the win from 16 team kills.
Set 2 | Missouri State 25, Indiana State 23
Set two was much tighter, with Missouri State taking a three-point lead right before the break, 15-12. It was tied at 20 before Hardersen and
Kira Holland finished off kills, but the Bears went on a 5-1 run to take the second set.
Set 3 | Missouri State 25, Indiana State 14
The Bears held the early lead, but Indiana State hung tight, trailing only 11-10. That's when Missouri State took command of the set outscoring the Sycamores 10-2 to go up 21-12 before the Bears closed the set with an 11-point advantage.
Set 4 | Missouri State 25, Indiana State 17
The combination of hitting .050 as a team for recording six service errors by the Sycamores didn't bode well, but Indiana State continued to battle the entire set. The Trees found themselves down five before the midpoint, but the Bears committed a serving error allowing
Corinne Knapp to serve up a pair of aces that was sandwiched by block from
Ella Scott and
Taylor Knuth to force a timeout. But it would be the Bears to outscore the Sycamores 10-6 to take the set and match win.

- Hadley Hardersen recorded her second triple-double of her career. This gives her the only two triple-doubles in the program since 2007.
- Lily Mueller was named to the All-Tournament Team – her first selection as a Sycamore. On the weekend, she hit .429 with 18 kills and recorded eight blocks.
- Avery Hales in the match tied two season highs in aces (3) and digs (11).
- Taylor Knuth saw her most action on the court as a Sycamore, playing in nine sets over the weekend to hit .458 with 13 kills and picked up three blocks.
- Following the weekend, Ava Robart sits second in the league in total aces with 12. Three Sycamores sit inside the top six in total aces
- The Sycamores committed 18 service errors against Missouri State, the most in any match dating back at least through the 2006 season*.
