Box Score MOREHEAD, Ky.- Indiana State delivered a resilient performance on Thursday morning, earning a 2–1 road win at Morehead State behind steady attacking pressure and timely execution in both halves.
The Sycamores generated chances early, settling into the match with free kicks from Avery Oergel and Meagyn Riffle inside the first two minutes, followed by a strong attacking stretch that included shots from Tori Angelo, Quinn Urquhart, and Emely Lopez. Despite Morehead State converting a fourth-minute penalty, Indiana State responded with poise, tightening defensively and gradually taking control of possession.
The Sycamores' attack continued to build through the first half, highlighted by Quinn Urquhart's bottom-right shot at 11:13 and Lopez's bottom-center attempt at 12:11, both saved by Morehead State's goalkeeper. Meagyn Riffle remained active throughout the half, producing multiple chances including a bottom-center shot at 23:43 and another at 27:33 that forced a save and set up Indiana State's breakthrough moments later. Hailey Morgan capitalized in the 27th minute, finishing a right-footed shot to the bottom right off a clean assist from Riffle to level the match. Indiana State closed the half with continued pressure, earning corners at 23:13, 30:53, and 38:40 while generating additional shots from Madison Ziebarth, Ashlyn Cohen, Addyson Warner, and Morgan.
The second half brought even more control from Indiana State. Emely Lopez forced a save with a top-center shot at 57:09 before delivering the go-ahead goal in the 58th minute, placing a left-footed strike into the top left to give the Sycamores a 2–1 lead. Indiana State continued to create chances, earning corners at 52:41, 68:02, and 72:15 while generating shots from Morgan, Angelo, and Riffle. Defensively, Sofie Hansen anchored the effort with key saves at 34:22, 41:58, 77:30, and 89:03, helping the Sycamores manage Morehead State's late pushes. Indiana State closed out the match with composure, securing a strong road victory and continuing its upward momentum heading into the next contest.
