TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer's
Emely Lopez was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
Lopez scored three goals and added five assists over Indiana State's pair of wins over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and Chicago State as the Sycamores improved to 3-1 overall on the season.
The Shakopee, Minn. native opened the week on Thursday evening with a two-goal, four-assist performance against the Pomeroys in Indiana State's 12-0 win over SMWC. Earning her first start of the season, the freshman posted her stat-line over 47 minutes on the pitch, recording four shots and three shots on goal.
Lopez scored her opening goal at the 20:00 mark in the first half off the assist from
Isabella Berta and
Dasha Tuckova. She highlighted her match posting three assists and her second goal of the contest over the first 13:39 of the second half in the win.
Lopez continued her hot streak to open the season recording her third goal of the week and her fifth assist in the Sycamores' 5-1 win over Chicago State on Sunday afternoon. Lopez scored in the 34th minute to extend the lead to 3-0 and then added an assist in the 85th minute to close out the Indiana State scoring in the match.
Lopez is tied for the Sycamores' goal lead on the season with three, equaling the mark set by
Addyson Warner and
CharlieBleu Saunders, while her five assists are one better than
Kaitlynn Long.
The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2026-27 athletic season.
