Men's basketball signs USC Upstate transfer Karmani Gregory

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's basketball head coach Matthew Graves announced the signing of Karmani Gregory.
 
Gregory spent the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons at Florida SouthWestern State College before transferring to USC Upstate for the last two seasons (2024-25 and 2025-26). Gregory spent his first season of college basketball redshirting and played the 2025-26 season as a redshirt junior.
 
"Karmani brings a dynamic playmaker and scorer to our team," said head coach Matthew Graves. "He was one of the top guards in the Big South and has the ability to score at all three levels. He has had success throughout his career and brings an incredible work ethic and passion. We are excited to welcome him to Indiana State."
 
Gregory led the Spartans in scoring (15.6 per game) and assists (2.94 per game) in 31 games with 30 starts, leading to a Big South All-Conference Honorable Mention selection.
 
The Palmetto, Florida native last season shot 41.5% (167-402) from the field, 32.8% (60-183) from three, and 74.6% (91-122) from the line; all improvements from the season prior. He also reduced his total turnovers from 95 down to 68. Gregory added in 69 rebounds and 33 steals.
 
In his career, he has played 83 games compiling numbers of 41.6% (371-891) from the field, 32.0% (118-369) from three, 72.2% (166-230) from the line, 165 rebounds, 262 assists, and 84 steals.
