Sycamores close road slate Saturday at Belmont

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. Indiana State plays its final road game of the 2025-26 season Saturday evening when it faces Belmont for a 5 p.m. tip in the Music City.

Last Time Out
Clemisha Prackett registered a 21-point, 18-rebound double-double Thursday night, but Indiana State was overwhelmed by Murray State's high-powered offense in a 115-67 defeat inside the CFSB Center.

Prackett tallied career highs in both points and rebounds, while Da'Naria Washington and Tierney Kelsey added 16 points apiece.

After keeping pace for the first 12 minutes of the game Murray State used a late second quarter run to take a double-digit lead into the intermission. The Racers fully broke things open in the third, outscoring the Sycamores 39-12 in the period on their way to at least a share of the MVC regular season title.

Crunch Time
With just two games remaining in the regular season for Indiana State, the last 80 minutes of regular season basketball carry major implications for the Sycamores in terms of its Missouri Valley Conference Tournament seeding. The Sycamores can finish anywhere from eighth to 10th in the conference standings.

Indiana State will play in the opening round of the MVC Tournament March 12 in Coralville, Iowa, with the Sycamores' seed and opponent to be determined after the final two weeks of regular season play. The Blue and White could see any combination of Drake, UIC, Southern Illinois or Evansville in the opening round of the conference tournament, with the Sycamores' first round game likely to be in either the 4:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. time slot.

Glass Crashers
Indiana State features a pair of athletes who have produced 15-rebound games this season in forwards Amerie Flowers and Clemisha Prackett. The duo both rank among the top 15 in the MVC in rebounds, despite neither averaging more than 20 minutes per game.

Prackett has a pair of games with 15-plus rebounds this season, most recently recording an 18-rebound contest in Thursday's game at Murray State. She also pulled down 15 boards in a non-conference game at Butler. Prackett's 18 rebounds against the Racers were tied for fourth in a single game in program history, and marked the most rebounds by a Sycamore in a game since January 2024 (Mya Glanton - 18).

Flowers' 15-rebound game came in the Sycamores' season opener at IU Indy, with her performance setting a program record for rebounds in a season opener.

Off To The Races
Thursday's game between Indiana State and Murray State features two teams which rank among the national leaders in pace of play. The Sycamores' 78.3 possessions per 40 minutes ranks seventh nationally, while the Racers enter Thursday's game ranked 31st in possessions per 40 minutes at 75.9.

Coincidentally, the Racers (84.0) and Sycamores (74.0) are the two highest-scoring teams in the Missouri Valley Conference, with Murray State ranking 10th nationally and Indiana State sitting 53rd nationally in scoring offense.

Kelsey has also hit the 20-point mark this season against Eastern Illinois (22), SIU Edwardsville (22), Northern Illinois (22) and Old Dominion (21). Her five 20-point games rank 12th in the MVC this season.

Prackett ranks sixth in the MVC in rebounds at 8.0 per game, with her 10 double-doubles this season ranking fourth in the conference.

Allen has scored in double-figures in 16 games this season, a mark which ranks second on the team behind only Kelsey, while leading the Blue and White in 3-pointers (49) and 3-point percentage (34.0). She also sits fifth in the MVC in 3-point percentage.

Flowers was an efficient 12-for-17 against the Racers, while hitting the 20-point plateau for the first time in her collegiate career. Her 10 double-figure scoring outings include seven double-digit scoring performances against MVC competition.
