Lehnert Scores Twice as ISU Defeats Green Bay

Box Score

GREEN BAY, WIS. – Indiana State picked up a 2-0 victory on Thursday afternoon at Aldo Santaga Stadium, powered by a pair of second-half goals from Alex Lehnert and a clean sheet from goalkeeper Delaney Timmons

After a scoreless opening half that saw Green Bay control possession and generate seven shots, the Sycamores made the most of their chances after the break. Lehnert opened the scoring at 62:14, finishing low to the right side off a setup from Kaitlynn Long and Isabella Berta. She struck at 81:46, converting another right-footed effort to the bottom right corner off a feed from Kaylin Klutcharch to secure the result.

ISU totaled six shots in the second half, three on goal, while capitalizing on both of Lehnert's scoring opportunities. Timmons was outstanding in net, recording six saves to earn the shutout while turning aside several key Green Bay chances, including back-to-back stops in the 76th and 78th minutes.

The Sycamore back line, led by Mackenzie Mills, Brooklyn Woods, and Riley Mathews, limited Green Bay's attack despite the Phoenix registering 11 corner kicks. ISU's efficiency in the attacking third and composure defensively helped secure the team's third win of the season.
