Sycamores Shine on Senior Day with 3-0 Victory over Western Illinois

TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Indiana State put together a dominant performance on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium, defeating Western Illinois 3-0 on Senior Day behind goals from Tori Angelo, Addyson Warner, and Skylar Cano

Indiana State stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the opening 45 minutes against Western Illinois on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium, powered by three different goal scorers. 

The Sycamores quickly positioned themselves on top, as Tori Angelo struck at 3:48 with a left-footed finish to the bottom left corner. Addyson Warner doubled the lead just four minutes later at 8:29 with a curling shot to the top left, giving ISU early momentum. 

ISU continued to control possession and create chances throughout the half. After a series of saves by WIU goalkeeper Bernard, the Sycamores broke through again at 41:52, when Skylar Cano buried a left-footed strike to the top left corner, assisted by Kaylin Klutcharch, extending the lead to 3-0 at the break. 

The Sycamores tallied 14 first-half shots, forcing Bernard into seven saves, while goalkeeper Alicia Perez faced only one attempt on the opposite end. ISU also earned three corner kicks in the half, keeping the pressure squarely on the Leathernecks. 

The second half saw ISU control the tempo and protect its advantage. The Sycamores generated seven more shots after the break, including dangerous looks from Alex Lehnert, Anna Chor, and CharlieBleu Saunders. ISU's defense held firm, limiting the Leathernecks to just two shots on goal for the match. 

Indiana State finished the afternoon with 21 total shots, forcing Bernard into 11 saves, while goalkeepers Alicia Perez and Rosemary Elliott combined for the shutout in net.

4' – Indiana State 1–0: Tori Angelo opened the scoring with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. 
8' – Indiana State 2–0: Addyson Warner doubled the lead with a strike to the top left. 
42' – Indiana State 3–0: Skylar Cano extended the advantage with a left-footed finish to the top left corner, assisted by Kaylin Klutcharch
