Daughtry named to MVC All-Bench and Most Improved Teams

ST. LOUIS – Indiana State men's basketball sophomore Jaden Daughtry was selected to the MVC All-Bench Team and the Most Improved Team, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Daughtry was the only player named to both the All-Bench and Most Improved Teams this season. He finished first in the entire league in field goal percentage, finishing shooting 60.1% from the field.
 
The sophomore finished 18th in the league in points per game with 13.0. Out of the top 25 leaders in points per game, Daughtry finished with the least amount of time played (599 minutes).

He appeared in each game this season for Indiana State and started three games. He averaged 13.0 points per game in the regular season playing 19.3 minutes off the bench, grabbing 4.2 rebounds per game. He finished with 15+ points in 15 of his 31 games. Daughtry didn't shoot much from three, but when he did he hit 40.7% of the time (11-for-27).

According to records found, Daughtry is only the seventh player since the 1999 season to be listed on both teams in the same year:

Daughtry scored 21 points on 10-for-11 shooting against mid-major top 20 Arkansas State. He had a five-game stretch of averaging 21.8 points per game, highlighted by a 25 point game on 7-of-10 shooting with five rebounds against the Big Ten's Ohio State, and two games later he scored 26 in a road MVC win at Evansville. To close out the season, he averaged 15.25 points per game through the final four games.
 
In the 20 MVC games, he averaged 14.3 points per game on 60.1% from the floor and recording 4.1 rebounds per game. He played only 20.6 minutes per game, the sixth-most minutes on the team.
 
The Sycamores hit the court on Thursday, March 6 for the Opening Round of the 2025 MVC Tournament. Indiana State played Southern Illinois at 1 p.m. ET at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, aired on ESPN+ and 105.5 The Legend.
