TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's basketball hosts the visiting Redbirds of Illinois State on Saturday afternoon, tipping off at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN+ and 105.5 The Legend.
Last week, Indiana State traveled to Iowa to play both Drake and Northern Iowa. The Sycamores fell to Drake 85-81 in overtime and to Northern Iowa 88-73. In the two games,
Samage Teel averaged 23.5 points per game shooting 61.5% from the field and 85.7% from the line (12-14). He dished out five assists per game, playing 38.6 minutes per game.
Aaron Gray averaged 13.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game,
Jaden Daughtry 12.5 points per game, and
K'mani Doughty 10.5 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game.
The Series
Illinois State holds a slight margin over the Sycamores with a 70-64 overall record. When playing in Terre Haute, the Sycamores boast a 42-23 record.
The two squads met about three weeks ago in Normal where the Redbirds won 85-81. The game was tied at halftime before Illinois State jumped out to a late 13-point lead with 5:29 to play. The Sycamores fought all the way back to a one-possession game with 25 seconds to play before two free throws by ILS secured the four-point victory.

Gray is shooting 62.9% (22-35) from the field to lead all Sycamores, followed by Daughtry (51.1%). Wagner is shooting 43.9% (18-41) from downtown, Gray is pulling down 7.4 rebounds per game, and Teel is averaging 5.8 assists per game.
About Illinois State
Illinois State enters Saturday in a four-way tie for fifth place with a 7-8 record in MVC play. They're coming off an 84-77 home lost to the league's leader Drake.
Chase Walker is leading the team in both PPG (15.8) and RPG (6.0). He's shooting 59.3% from the field and 71.6% from the line (106-148). Walker is leading the league in field goal percentage, is second in free throw attempts, and is fourth in points per game.
Johnny Kinziger is the only other Redbird in double figures in the season, averaging 15.0 PPG on 46.1% shooting, 42.3% from three, and 89.7% from the line. Kinziger has played twice against Indiana State in his career and has averaged 25.5 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 3.5 APG, 64.0% FG (16-25), 62.5% 3FG (5-8), 34.5 MPG.
