Last Time Out
Indiana State won their home opener against Illinois Tech, 104-73, as Sterling Young recorded his first 20-point performance as a Sycamore. Enel St. Bernard (17), Ian Scott (13), Derek Vorst (12), and Markus Harding (11) all finished in double figures for Indiana State. St. Bernard finished with a double-double (17 points, 12 rebounds) and earned a spot on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays with a one-handed slam dunk.

The Series
This will be the fourth-ever meeting between the two teams and the second in two years. The Cougars visited Terre Haute and walked away with a win, 77-72, as Indiana State shot just 40.7% from the field and 36.6% from three.

Last season's matchup was the first in 40 years - the very first meeting was in 1975 and the second was in 1984. All three games were played in Terre Haute, as this Monday night contest marks the first time the Sycamores have played in Edwardsville.

Quick Notes
  • Through the first two games of the season, Ian Scott is averaging 18.5 PPG and 8.5 RPG. He combines with the other three bigs (Markus Harding, Derek Vorst, Enel St. Bernard) to shoot 38-50 from the field (76.0%). Scott's scoring mark currently ranks fourth in the MVC, and his rebounding mark is second.
  • In the last game, Xavier Hall crossed the 1,000-point mark in his career. He recorded nine assists for the second-straight game, ranking sixth in the nation in assists per game (9.0).

A Note on Coach Graves
Indiana State men's basketball head coach Matthew Graves will be taking a leave of absence, effective immediately, due to a medical procedure ahead of the start of the 2025-26 season. Associate Head Coach Mark Slessinger will serve as the Sycamores' acting head coach in Graves' absence.
