Ian Scott earned Newcomer of the Week for his effort in the first week of the season, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Scott led the Sycamores in the week with an impressive 82.4% (14-for-17) shooting from the floor, including knocking down 2-of-3 threes and 7-of-9 from the floor. Scott also averaged 8.5 rebounds between the two games, recording 5 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals. Through the first week of play compared to the rest of the league, his numbers rank: first in field goal percentage, fourth in points per game, and second in rebounds per game.
In the opener, Scott recorded a double-double of 24 points, 11 rebounds finishing 9-of-10 from the floor. He followed that up with a 20-point, 6-rebound performance in only 20 minutes on the court.
The Sycamores play tonight, November 10 at SIUE at 7 p.m. ET before traveling to Duke on Friday, November 14 with a 7 p.m. ET start.
