ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Indiana State's Jecza Lopez was named this week's Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week after her performance this past weekend at the Tim Welsh Classic.
 
Lopez scored high enough to advance to the 2025 NCAA Zone C Qualifiers in the 3M Springboard Diving event at the event hosted inside the Rolfs Aquatic Center at Notre Dame. She previously qualified for the 1M Springboard in her opening meet at the tri-meet against Southern Illinois and Indianapolis posting a six-dive score of 267.25.
 
Overall, Lopez posted a score of 286.30 in the prelims to place sixth overall in the field, and then improved on her score with a 287.95 to place fifth in the championships. She followed up with a 257.45 in the 1M prelims to advance to the finals in the event. In the 1M Diving finals, she posted a six-dive score of 265.20 to place fifth in the field.
 
The Guadalajara, Mexico native is the second Sycamore diver to receive the conference's weekly honor this season as she claims Indiana State's 10th overall recognition by the MVC.
