TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Emma Gresham placed second overall in the women's 6k Saturday at the John McNichols Invitational while Indiana State placed in the top three among Division I schools on both the men's and women's side at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
Among Division I schools, Indiana State finished second on the women's side and third on the men's side.
Gresham clocked a time of 21:03.7, breaking her previous best in the event by nearly a minute to place second overall. Her time also ranks within the top five in program history, and was the second-fastest ever run by a Sycamore at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
Erica Barker placed 11th overall with a time of 21:34.7, which moved her up to seventh in program history, while
Brittney Burak (21:59.3) and
Peyton Smith (22:01.7) both cracked the top 20 6k times in program history.
Morgan Dyer (22:38.6) rounded out the Sycamores' scorers in the women's 6k, while
Gnister Grant (22:45.8) and
Halle Miller (22:47.2) closed out the Trees' top seven finishers.
Layton Hall led the way for the Blue and White on the men's side with a time of 25:18.1.
Emerson Fayman followed behind with a time of 25:20.6, while
Ryan York (25:43.7),
Jocqael Thorpe (25:44.2) and
Ian Gadberry (25:46.6) rounded out the top five for the Trees.
Jason Dworak (26:03.1) and
Jcim Grant (26:03.3) closed out the top seven for the Trees, with
Isaac Bryant (26:08.4) and
Ryan Handy (26:09.1) not far behind.
Michigan (women) and Miami (Ohio) (men) were the top-placing schools on the Division I side, while Wisconsin-La Crosse (men) and Colorado College (women) were the top finishers among non-Division I schools.
