Sycamores head to historic Hinkle Fieldhouse for NIT Final Four

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Indiana State men's basketball heads to its first-ever NIT Final Four, this year hosted in Indianapolis at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

About the Final Four
The Semifinal games are being played on Tuesday, April 2. Indiana State squares off against the University of Utah, followed by the other Semifinal game Seton Hall against Georgia. ISU plays at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, followed by game two at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The winners of the two games will play for the championship on Thursday, April 4 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. The NIT has announced that both the Semifinal and Championship games have been sold out.

This is the first meeting between the Sycamores and Utes.

Last Time Out - Indiana State
Robbie Avila connected on a three-pointer from the top of the key with 1:01 remaining to break a 77-77 tie and Indiana State closed out the game from the free throw line as the Sycamores topped visiting Cincinnati in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) Quarterfinal Round, 85-81.

Avila led the Sycamores with 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including 4-of-8 from the three-point line. The Sycamore center added six assists, primarily on back cuts to Ryan Conwell (18 points, six rebounds) as the Sycamores shot 44.8% (26-of-58) from the floor as a team. Kent did not miss from the floor going 5-of-5 from the floor, 2-of-2 from the three-point line, and 4-of-4 from the free throw line on his way to scoring 16 points and pulling down seven rebounds. Swope was the fourth Sycamore in double-digits with 12 points.

Last Time Out - Utah
The Utah men's basketball team punched their ticket to Indianapolis for the NIT semifinals Wednesday night after it routed VCU inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center 74-54 behind stellar play from Branden Carlson, Gabe Madsen, and Deivon Smith. Smith finished with 17 points, 11 boards, and 12 assists. Madsen would finish with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from long-range.
