TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's basketball's Jayson Kent was named this week's Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.

Kent scored a career-high 35 points in the National Invitation Tournament opener against SMU on Wednesday night and added nine rebounds in 39 minutes of action in ISU's 101-92 win over the Mustangs. He followed up with a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double against Minnesota in the Second Round 76-64 win to propel the Sycamores to the NIT Quarterfinals.

The Oak Forest, Ill. native went 11-for-12 from the floor on Wednesday night and added an 11-for-12 outing from the free throw line on his way to tying the most points scored by a Sycamore this season. Kent tied with Robbie Avila's 35-point performance from the field against Evansville on February 28 and added a blocked shot and two steals over his 39 minutes on the floor.

Kent followed up with his 10th double-double of the 2023-24 season in the Second Round win over Minnesota inside the Hulman Center. He posted 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor, while 11 rebounds and two blocked shots over 37 minutes.

For the week, he averaged 25.5 points and 10.0 rebounds over the week to lead the way as the Sycamores head to the NIT Quarterfinal Round on Tuesday night against Cincinnati.
