TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State baseball's
Luis Hernandez was named this week's Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
Hernandez hit safely in all three games over the weekend on his way to hitting a team-high .462 from the plate with five RBI, five runs scored, and a home run. The junior utility player drove in the go-ahead runs in both Sunday games, while answering a Florida A&M rally with a home run in the opener to pace ISU to its first series sweep of the year.

He added the go-ahead two-run single in the top of the second inning completing a four-run Sycamore rally in ISU's 7-2 win over FAMU.
He wrapped up the weekend in the series finale going a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate scoring four runs while driving in two in the 15-0 win over the Rattlers. He drove in the first run of the game with a single and added another RBI in the seventh inning to give Indiana State the 10-0 lead in the win.
He currently leads ISU in batting average (.333), hits (19), and runs (13), while sitting third in RBIs (13).
