About Valparaiso
Valparaiso is in its first season with Coach Roger Powell Jr. at the helm. Valpo sits 11th-of-12 in the MVC standings but own the league's lowest win total of six. VU was selected to finish last in the preseason poll. Valpo finished the 2022-23 season 11-21 overall and 5-15 in the MVC. VU was knocked out in the first round of the MVC Tournament by Murray State, 78-50. Two Beacons currently average 10.0+ PPG: Isaiah Stafford (17.4) and Cooper Schwieger (11.9).

Jayson Kent put himself in historic company with a 20-rebound performance, breaking his career high set only two games ago. Kent tied six former Sycamores with his rebounding performance for eighth place, tying Bob Barker, Carl Macon, Johnny Edwards, Jayson Wells, Jim Cruse, and Larry Bird.
Ryan Conwell led the offensive scoring for Indiana State with 21 points and seven rebounds, including a 10-for-10 effort from the charity stripe.
Robbie Avila closely followed with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 6-for-10 from the field and 4-for-6 from deep. Avila added a game-high four assists and game-high two blocks.
Julian Larry scored 16 points, finishing 7-for-10 from the floor, his highest scoring mark since his 19 points versus Tennessee State.

The Beacons fell 63-62 in a game that was hanging in the balance until the final horn sounded against Evansville. Cooper Schwieger reached 20 points for the third time this season including twice in the last four games. He went 9-of-16 from the field and 3-of-5 from 3-point territory. His 22 points shattered his previous career high of 21 set at Elon. Isaiah Stafford finished with 15 points, his eighth straight double-figure scoring output. Jaxon Edwards was the third Beacon in double figures with 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting including 2-of-3 from 3. He also swiped four steals and blocked two shots. This marked his first double-figure scoring output in the last eight games and his seventh of the season.

- Red Panda (Rong Niu) is the halftime entertainment. Red Panda, an acrobat, has been deemed by Sports Illustrated as the NBA's most popular intermission entertainment. Red Panda climbs onto a seven-foot unicycle and flips dishes from her foot onto her head.
- Wednesday will feature 80s-themed music throughout the night.
- The Forest is encouraged to dress in beach attire.
