TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's basketball's Samage Teel was named this week's GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
 
Teel led the men's basketball team to a 2-2 mark on the week with wins over Iona and Tarleton State to cap off the Baha Mar Hoops Event this past weekend in Nassau, Bahamas.
 
Teel averaged 16.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game with a pair of 20-point performances against Southern Indiana and Tarleton State. He shot 53.2% (25-for-47) from the floor and added 3.8 assists and 2.3 steals per contest as the Sycamores improved to 5-4 overall in the 2024-25 season.
 
The Greenville, N.C. native opened the week going 8-for-14 with 20 points, six rebounds, and five steals on Monday against Southern Indiana. He followed up by filling the stat sheet against Arkansas State with eight points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Teel was back in double-digits with 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists in Saturday's win over Iona. He finished the week with 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting, 4-of-7 from behind the arc, while adding eight rebounds in Sunday's win over Tarleton State.
 
The GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every Monday afternoon throughout the 2024-25 athletic season.
