Sycamores, Hannahs announce 2024 baseball schedule

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State head baseball coach Mitch Hannahs announced the Sycamores' 2024 baseball schedule on Tuesday morning.

The full schedule features an 18-game home slate at Bob Warn Field featuring midweek home games against Illinois, Indiana, and Purdue in nonconference play starting on Tuesday, March 12, against Illinois. The road nonconference schedule features a challenging slate including starting the year against Louisville, while road trips to Florida Gulf Coast, Vanderbilt, Southern Miss, and Xavier also provide key matchups early in the season.

The Sycamores will also play a full 27-game Missouri Valley schedule once again this season with the conference opener set for March 22-24 at Bob Warn Field against Missouri State. Additional home series include UIC, Bradley, Belmont, and Evansville, while ISU will travel to Murray State, Illinois State, Southern Illinois, and Valparaiso.

The Sycamores hit the road for the first 15 games of the 2024 regular season starting on February 16-18 in Tampa, Fla. Indiana State opens the season on Friday, February 16, against Louisville at the USF Baseball Stadium. The Sycamores will take on UConn the following day, before wrapping up the weekend against host South Florida to close out the first week of a two-week Florida swing to start the year.

Following a midweek matchup at Florida Gulf Coast (Feb. 21), the Sycamores head to Port Charlotte and the Snowbird Baseball Classic to take on Michigan State (Feb. 23) and Marshall (Feb. 24 & 25). The Sycamores close out the month in Nashville, Tenn. on February 27 as ISU takes on Vanderbilt at Hawkins Field.

The Sycamores remain on the road at the start of March as ISU travels Pete Taylor Park to take on Southern Miss over March 1-3. ISU closes out the season-opening road trip with a four-game set at Florida A&M as the Sycamores travel to the Rattlers over the March 8-10 weekend.

The 2024 home opener at Bob Warn Field is set for March 12 as ISU hosts Illinois, the first of three Big Ten opponents coming to Terre Haute in the regular season. Following a weekend series at Xavier (Mar. 15-17), the Sycamores return to host Indiana on Tuesday, March 19, starting an eight-game home stand.

The home stand continues over the weekend as the Sycamores start MVC play on March 22-24 against Missouri State. Following a midweek contest against Purdue (Mar. 26), ISU closes out the month with a three-game weekend series against UIC.

April features a return to the road as 12 of ISU's 15 scheduled games in the month will be away from Terre Haute. ISU opens the month with the return trip to Bloomington to take on IU (Apr. 2), before traveling to Murray State (Apr. 5-7) for a three-game series against their conference foe. A nonconference trip to Purdue on April 9 ends the first road trip of the month, before ISU returns home on April 12-14 for a three-game series against Bradley.

Back-to-back weekend road trips to Illinois State (Apr. 19-21) and Southern Illinois (Apr. 26-28) preclude ending the month on the road in Champaign-Urbana, Ill. on April 30 against Illinois.

ISU opens the final month of the regular season with back-to-back home weekend series against Belmont (May 3-5) and Evansville (May 10-12). The Evansville series is ISU's final home weekend of the regular season and will include ISU's Senior Weekend festivities.

The Sycamores are on the road for the final four games of the regular season traveling to Ball State (May 14) and Valparaiso (May 16-18).

The 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championships will be held at German American Bank Field at Charles H. Braun Stadium on the campus of the University of Evansville on May 21-25.

Indiana State Baseball season tickets and the full spring broadcast schedule will be announced later.
