Series History
Indiana State holds the lead in the all-time meeting history, as this marks the 186th meeting between the Sycamores and Purple Aces. ISU swept Evansville in all three meetings last year, including a first-round knockout in the Missouri Valley tournament in St. Louis. Indiana State has won 13 of the previous 14 contests versus Evansville, dating back to the 2017-18 season.

About Evansville
Evansville is in their second season with Coach David Ragland at the helm. The Purple Aces currently sit 5th overall in the conference with a 1-1 record in MVC play. Evansville was selected to finish 11-of-12 in the preseason MVC poll. UE has already doubled their win total from last season, going only 5-27 overall last season and 1-19 in conference play. Four Purple Aces currently average 10.0+ PPG: Ben Humrichous (16.3), Yacine Toumi (10.3), Chuck Bailey III (10.7), and Kenny Strawbridge, Jr. (10.1).

Last Time Out - Indiana State
Indiana State saw its 10-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon as the Sycamores fell in a tough test at Michigan State, 87-75, inside the Breslin Center.
 
The Sycamores fell for just the second time in the 2023-24 season in the rematch of the 1979 NCAA Championship Game despite Isaiah Swope's 26-point effort that included a game-high six three-pointers. The junior guard was 9-of-18 from the floor and 6-of-13 in leading the ISU offensive charge in the effort. Ryan Conwell added 16 points, while Jayson Kent had 12 points over 21 minutes as the Sycamores battled through foul trouble throughout the contest in the loss.

Last Time Out - Evansville
Evansville battled the University of Cincinnati of the Big 12 conference and fell 76-58 on Dec. 29. Despite the Purple Aces leading 40-32 at the break, Evansville scored only 18 second-half points to inevitably record their third loss of the season.

Yacine Toumi led the way with 17 points (8-for-13) with nine rebounds. Kenny Strawbridge followed with 14 points, and Tanner Cuff chipped in 13 points. Evansville finished the game 3-for-12 from beyond the arc.
