Â
The Sycamores fell for just the second time in the 2023-24 season in the rematch of the 1979 NCAA Championship Game despiteÂ
Isaiah Swope's 26-point effort that included a game-high six three-pointers. The junior guard was 9-of-18 from the floor and 6-of-13 in leading the ISU offensive charge in the effort.Â
Ryan Conwell added 16 points, whileÂ
Jayson Kent had 12 points over 21 minutes as the Sycamores battled through foul trouble throughout the contest in the loss.
Last Time Out - Evansville
Evansville battled the University of Cincinnati of the Big 12 conference and fell 76-58 on Dec. 29. Despite the Purple Aces leading 40-32 at the break, Evansville scored only 18 second-half points to inevitably record their third loss of the season.
Yacine Toumi led the way with 17 points (8-for-13) with nine rebounds. Kenny Strawbridge followed with 14 points, and Tanner Cuff chipped in 13 points. Evansville finished the game 3-for-12 from beyond the arc.
