Sycamore Basketball releases the full 2023-24 schedule

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The 2023-24 Indiana State men's basketball schedule is complete as the Missouri Valley announced the 20-game conference slate on Friday morning.

The Sycamores schedule will feature home-and-home contests with nearly every member of the MVC this season with the exception of both Northern Iowa and Illinois State. Indiana State will travel UNI on January 7, while the Sycamores will host the Redbirds inside Hulman Center on February 13.

Overall, ISU will host 10 MVC games at home in 2023-24 starting with the conference opener on November 28 against Southern Illinois. Additional home games this season include Evansville (Jan. 3), Belmont (Jan. 13), Missouri State (Jan. 16), Bradley (Jan. 27), Drake (Feb. 3), Valparaiso (Feb. 7), Illinois State (Feb. 13), UIC (Feb. 24), and the regular season finale against Murray State (Mar. 3).

The conference home schedule completes the 14-game home schedule for the 2023-24 season that also features contests against St. Mary of the Woods, IUPUI, Southern Indiana, and Tennessee State inside Hulman Center. Game times and television dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Sycamores open up 2023-24 with a regular season matchup against St. Mary of the Woods on Monday, November 6 to open the year. The opening week concludes with a road trip to Alabama on November 10 as ISU takes on the Crimson Tide for the first time in program history.

Indiana State returns for their second home game of 2023-24 with a November 14 contest against IUPUI at Hulman Center. It marks the first time the programs have met since the 2015 season and ninth overall.

The Sycamores head to Las Vegas, Nev. for Thanksgiving as ISU is set to join five other teams for the Ball Dawgs Classic at The Dollar Loan Center. Indiana State will take on Rice (Nov. 21), Pepperdine (Nov. 22), and Toledo (Nov. 24) over the four-day event held in the home of the NBA G League Ignite.

Following the Ball Dawgs Classic, Indiana State starts Missouri Valley play at home as the Sycamores welcome the Salukis of Southern Illinois to Hulman Center on November 28. ISU remains in conference action on December 2 at Bradley, before returning to nonconference play at Northern Illinois on December 5.

The Sycamores return to Terre Haute on December 9 to take on Southern Indiana, before heading to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on December 16 for the Second Annual Indy Classic. ISU will take on Ball State continuing the extensive history between the two programs dating back to the inaugural matchup in 1919.

ISU's final nonconference home game is set for December 19 as the Sycamores welcome Tennessee State to Hulman Center. The contest will mark the fourth all-time meeting between the programs and first since 2019.

The Sycamores' final nonconference game features an opponent of historical significance to Indiana State as ISU makes the trek to East Lansing, Mich. to take on Michigan State for the first time since the 1979 NCAA Championship Game. Tipoff against the Spartans inside the Breslin Center will be on December 30 with ticket information coming soon.
